To support the education of Southeast Alaska residents pursuing studies in health sciences and to encourage their return to the community, Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation is accepting applications for the Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Since 2009, the foundation has awarded more than $160,000 to Southeast Alaska students seeking degrees in health sciences fields through the Edelman Scholarship Endowment.

Scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants seeking a Health Sciences degree at an accredited college. Applicants should demonstrate both outstanding academic performance and leadership among their peers and community.

Inasmuch as practicable, scholarship awards will endeavor to fulfill the Edelman’s intent and desire to support graduate level and professional degree candidates who intend to return to Southeast Alaska to practice their chosen career in the health sciences field.

The application deadline is April 20. Application requirements and supporting information is available at http://www.brhfoundation.org/scholarship/ or by contacting Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation at 907-463-5704. Completed applications postmarked by April 20 may be sent to 3260 Hospital Drive, Juneau, AK 99801.

The foundation provides health education, promotes medical studies and research, and raises money for needed medical technology and improved health care for the residents of Juneau, and the surrounding areas served by Bartlett Regional Hospital, by acquiring resources that might not otherwise be available. The Foundation’s key goal is to raise money for philanthropic support of the community now and in the future. For more information, or to donate, visit www.brhfoundation.org.
