Alaska State Council on the Arts awards grants to Juneau

This June, the Alaska State Council on the Arts awarded over $$100,000 to various Juneau arts organizations.

For annual operating support, $9,600 went to Alaska Arts Education, $3,000 to Juneau Alaska Music Matters, $3,500 to Juneau Dance Theatre Inc. and $3,000 to Sealaska Heritage Institute.

For operating support, first year biennial grants, $8,910 went to Juneau Jazz & Classics and $21,000 went to Perseverance Theatre, Inc.

For operating support, second year biennial grants, $14,553 went to Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and $8,320 went to Juneau Symphony.

Community Arts Development Grants gave $3,000 to REACH, Inc. for the Canvas and $2,000 for Turning the Tides for Keys to Life.

Artist in Schools Round I Grants gave the Juneau Arts $ Humanities Council $15,000.

Special Projects Grants gave Alaska Arts Education Consortium $3,000 and the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council $8,000.

The Alaska State Council on the Arts is funded by the Alaska State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, with support for arts education grants from the Rasmuson Foundation. All grant funding is contingent on the State of Alaska’s appropriation.
