The action starts early in the afternoon this Halloween, with festive gatherings taking place in both the Mendenhall Valley and downtown.
Starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Juneau-Douglas City Museum is hosting Halloween Treat at the Museum. This two-hour event includes punch, cookies and a small gift for trick-or-treaters.
From 2-6 p.m. Wednesday throughout downtown, 71 businesses will be open for trick-or-treaters. The businesses will offer candy, activities, gifts and more. The businesses will be marked with orange balloons and “trick-or-treating here” signs. Among these events is Ghouls Night Out at The Canvas at REACH. This free event, running from 2-6 p.m., includes an Oreo race, dancing and a costume contest
From 3-5 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Dimond Park Field House in the Mendenhall Valley, trick-or-treaters can prepare for their big night with bounce houses, slides, goody bags and photos with princesses and heroes. The event, hosted by Juneau Pediatric Dentistry, will also include a costume contest.
