Driver cited in car crash

Driver cited, no major injuries reported

A driver was cited after causing a car crash that stopped traffic on Monday morning near Fred Meyer on Egan Drive.

At about 7:17 a.m. Monday, JPD got a call that a two-car crash had happened in the 8100 block of Egan Drive, according to a JPD dispatch. The crash involved a blue 2005 Buick hitting a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris, JPD Public Safety Manager Erann Kalwara said. Rubyelle Liberty, 39, was driving the Buick, Kalwara said, and was cited for failing to yield on a left turn.

An ambulance arrived on scene to treat a patient who had knee pain, but the patient was not taken to the hospital, Kalwara said. Egan Drive was closed for about 50 minutes and both cars were towed away.
