This Friday night, the Alaska Native Sisterhood and Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp 70 are joining forces to help a local church replace its elevator.

Northern Light United Church’s elevator is overdue to be replaced, and a live auction Friday aims to raise money to help replace it. The auction, put on by ANS and ANB Camp 70, is expected to run from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall in the Andrew Hope Building on Willoughby Avenue.

Auction items include beaded moccasins, an Alaska Native food basket, a pie plate, various desserts and more. There will also be grilled halibut, sparkling punch and other refreshments.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets will be available at the door, but people can call Beverly Russell at 723-6497 to get tickets in advance.
