The 32nd annual Holiday Cup soccer tournament will feature their six divisional championship matches Tuesday at the Dimond Park Field House.

The annual gathering of “association football,” or “futebol,” or “soccer,” as local turf-huggers call it, has whittled down 31 festive holiday-themed teams and roughly 380 cheery players into a final celebration for saying goodbye to the old year.

Action kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Elementary championship (players who are at least 9 years old) between the Stocking Squad versus the Nutmeggers. The Middle School (grades 6, 7 and 8) title game follows at 11:15 a.m. between the Tinsel Toes v Santa’s Strikers. High School (grades 9-12) players take to the turf at 12:30 p.m. between the Jingle Ballers v North Pole United.

Seniors (out of high school thru age 21) play at 1:45 p.m. with the Iced Out v Grinch Gang. Classic (age 35 and up) action runs at 3 p.m. with the Eggnog and Nutmegs v Slay Bells, and the Masters (age 22-35) championship is at 4:15 p.m. with the Wet Bandits v Chilkat Bamdots.
