This is a developing story.
Juneau School District cancelled classes and the City and Borough of Juneau has closed its facilities for the day. A winter storm warning is in effect with potential snow dump of over a foot until this evening.
A four-day reprieve from the snow ended last night with the start of more snowfall. CBJ announced Sunday that schools and city facilities would be closed, in anticipation of heavy snowfall throughout the day Monday.
The National Weather Service Juneau reported that between one and five inches fell overnight Sunday. As of early this morning, NWS forecast between four and 15 inches of snow by 9 p.m. tonight, with the heaviest snow expected to hit between 9 a.m. and through the afternoon.
