Cancer Connection hosts 26th annual ‘Beat the Odds’ race

Cancer Connection is hosting the 26th annual “Beat the Odds” race against cancer this month.

The race, which is both a 5K run and a 2-mile walk, is taking place Saturday, Aug. 19, at 9 a.m. at Riverbend Elementary School.

It costs $20 for participants 13 years old and under; $25 for those 14 and over; and $30 on race day.

Pre-register in person at Foggy Mountain Shop, Pavitt’s Health &Fitness, JRC–The Alaska Club, and Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, or online at www.cancerconnectionak.org. Pre-registration closes at noon, Thursday, Aug. 17.
