Thunder Mountain High School sophomore Kiah Dihle proved mightier than the rest of the field at the Petersburg Invitational on Saturday.

Dihle took first place in the girls 5-kilometer cross country race, pulling away mid-race from Anna Prussian of Sitka to finish in 19 minutes, 54 seconds. Dominic Baciocco of Sitka won the boys race in 16:29 ahead of Tucker Kelly of Thunder Mountain.

The Ketchikan cross country teams came out on top in the team standings. The Ketchikan boys scored 51 points, Sitka had 71 points, Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé had 90 points and Thunder Mountain had 105 points. The Ketchikan girls totaled 60 points, Thunder Mountain had 63 points, Haines had 66 points and Juneau-Douglas 105 points.
