Summer youth camps 2016

There will be a variety of different youth summer camps this year, from cultural, fine arts, outdoors, overnight, sports and STEM camps. To help parents and kids find the right camp, Zach Gordon Youth Center will host a camp fair on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Organizations will provide information on their camps and offer registration on site.

Goldbelt Heritage Foundation, Sealaska Heritage Institute and Tlingit and Haida Community will provide cultural camps.

The Canvas will offer multitudes of classes during the day. Juneau Fine Arts Camp will offer a variety of classes, and the Summer Theater Arts Rendezvous program will have a five-week youth acting program.

Discovery Southeast, Girl Scout Day Camp, Juneau-Douglas City Museum Explorer Camp and Zach Gordon all offer different summer camps.

Overnight camps include 4H Alaska Experience Camp, Boy Scout Camp, Echo Ranch Bible Camp, Glacier Bible Camp and Lynn Canal Running Camp.

The City and Borough of Juneau Parks and Recreation Department will be offering soccer camps. Juneau Youth Sailing teaches students how to sail.

Juneau Economic Development Council and Camp Invention offers STEM camps.
