Gelstons celebrate 50th anniversary

Mike and Bev Gelston celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 4. They were married at St. Columba’s Church in Oakland, California, in 1966. The two met on a blind date after being introduced by friends. The couple lived in Arcata, California, while Mike attended Humboldt State University. After graduation the couple moved to Juneau in 1968 where Mike was employed with the Juneau Police Department and Bev with the City Attorneys Office. Since retiring, they have enjoyed traveling, long distance truck driving, numerous senior softball trips and spending time with their three sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren in California, Colorado and Juneau.
