An event observing International Day of Peace will be held Monday at Mayor Bill Overstreet Park, the local chapter of Veterans for Peace announced.

The event, titled Global Peace Starts at Home, will include remarks from former state Rep. Beth Kerttula and music by Teri Tibbett. It is scheduled for noon-1 p.m. at the whale statue.

The event is sponsored by Veterans for Peace Chapter 100. Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged.
