Juneau area groomed Nordic trails:

• Eagle Beach:

As of Feb. 7, skate and classic skiing were good in soft, ungroomed snow. Coverage in the trees was improving.

• Eaglecrest Upper Loop:

As of Jan. 30, skate skiing was excellent, with great coverage, but no classic tracks. Al Clough has donated a shelter for the area; it was set up Tuesday.

• Mendenhall Glacier Campground:

As of Jan. 12, yellow speed bumps are starting to show through the ice; the Juneau Nordic Ski Club has stopped grooming until the area gets more snow.

• Montana Creek Road:

Melting fast. The first one mile is ice. But after the landslide the skiing is pretty good. Bring grippers to walk there.
