Meet the winner of this year’s sandcastle — or sand-pineapple — challenge at Sandy Beach: Thistle, age 2½.

Her mother, Kasey Noziska said that due to the rain, it appeared they were the only ones who participated in the contest this year for the annual Fourth of July activity. They wanted to share Thistle’s creation by submitting this photo.
