Douglas-Dornan Foundation Fund grants announced

The Juneau Community Foundaton’s Douglas-Dornan Foundation Fund recently announced $28,646 in grants to 13 nonprofits in Southeast Alaska.

Since 1994, the fund, which was established in memory of Brian Douglas and Wythe Dornan, has distributed $556,425, according to Juneau Community Foundation.

“Along with my other five donor advisors, I am very pleased to once again award grants to Juneau and other Southeast communities for non-profits so vital to the health and vitality of our region,” said fund founder, Paul Douglas, in a news release announcing the grants.

Grants included:

— Big Brothers Big Sisters Grant: $2,250

— Brave Heart Volunteers Grant: $2,225

— Cancer Connection Grant: $1,500

— Catholic Community Service Grant: $1,750

— Juneau Nordic Ski Club Grant: $1,525

— Juneau Youth Sailing, Inc. Grant: $3,000

— Lynn Canal Adventures Grant: $3,500

— Perseverance Theatre Grant: $1,000

— Southeast Alaska Foodbank Grant: $2,500

— Southeast Alaska Independent Living, Inc. Grant: $3,500

—Southeast Regional Resource Center Grant: $1,746

— Takshanuk Watershed Council Grant: $1,200

— Wrangell High School (BASE) Grant: $2,950
