Police calls for Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2022

Assault

At 1:23 p.m. on Monday, a 26-year-old woman reported an assault in the Juneau area.

Assist

At 1:36 a.m. on Tuesday, 37-year-old Kyle Derek Anderson Jr. was arrested for violating conditions of release in the 5900 block of Churchill Way. Alcohol was a factor. He was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

At 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Juneau Police Department assisted Capital City Fire and Rescue in the 1900 block of Alpine Avenue.

Death

At 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, the Juneau Police Department investigated the death of an 80-year-old man in the 600 block of Alta Court. The death was not considered suspicious.

Disturbance

At 2:19 p.m. on Monday, 40-year-old Matthew Charles was arrested for assault in the 9400 block of Glacier Highway. Alcohol was a factor and Charles was taken to the LCCC.

At 2:48 p.m. on Monday, 56-year-old Mark Albert Brown was arrested for assault in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway. Alcohol was a factor and Brown was taken to LCCC. He was additionally charged with violating conditions of his release.

Domestic Dispute

At 11:21 p.m. on Monday, JPD responded to a verbal altercation in the 8100 block of Pinewood Drive.

At 11:02 p.m. on Tuesday, 25-year-old Torrin Kenneth Latimer was arrested for domestic violence assault in the 5800 block of Glacier Highway. He was taken to LCCC.

Sex Crime

At 6:39 a.m. on Tuesday, JPD conducted a confidential investigation in the Juneau area.

Traffic Stop

At 1:38 p.m. on Monday, 40-year-old Nathan Nichols was arrested along Glacier Highway Access Road. for driving while license was revoked and for violating conditions of his release. Nichols was later released.

Unknown Problem

At 6:48 p.m. on Monday, 34-year-old Ida Johana Sheakley was arrested in the 5300 block of Blueberry Lane for unlawful contact and violating conditions of her release. Alcohol was a factor and Sheakley was taken to LCCC.

Vehicle in Ditch

At 8:51 a.m. on Tuesday, 30-year-old Kirsti Allie Backhaus was arrested in the 8300 block of Airport Boulevard for violating conditions of her release and for driving while license was revoked. Backhaus was later released.
