Numbers come from reports from the City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, as well as updates from the Alaska Coronavirus Response Hub and City and Borough of Juneau COVID-19 Dashboard. The city and state will begin providing COVID-19 data updates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays instead of daily. COVID at a glance will follow that schedule.

Cumulative cases: 4,042 residents and 299 nonresidents

Cumulative deaths: 17 residents, 1 nonresident

Vaccination information: 82.6% of Juneau’s eligible population ( 78.3% overall) has received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 77.4% of eligible Juneau residents (73.4% overall) have completed a full vaccination series.

State numbers for Dec. 20-21

New cases: 226 residents, 9 nonresidents

Test positivity rate: 3.58%

Cumulative cases: 149,815 residents and 5,479 nonresidents

Current hospitalizations: 58

New deaths: 30

Cumulative deaths: 945 residents, 31 nonresidents

Vaccination information: 67.4% of Alaska’s eligible population ( 63% overall) has received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 60.2% of eligible Alaskans (56.2% overall) have completed a full vaccination series.
