A bear is spotted swimming by a sculling photographer on the Douglas side of the Channel across from Sheep Creek. Denton wrote, “I followed it to the beach and then up the beach for a few hundred yards before he wandered up into the woods. He (or she) was really calm, big, and healthy looking. A really gorgeous creature. It was a little dicey getting to my phone without letting go of my oars in the chop.” (Photo by Bruce Denton)
