An Alaska Airlines 737-800, newly painted in the airline's 2016 refreshed brand, is ready to be revealed at the airline's maintenance hangar in SeaTac, Washington on Monday. This month, Alaska Airlines revealed the most substantial updates to its brand in a quarter century.

Alaska Airlines on Monday unveiled a suite of understated changes to its logo and the look of its airplanes.

In a ceremony in Seattle, the airline showed off a plane painted in the new livery, which adds layers of blue and green to the Eskimo-face logo that adorns the tail of every Alaska aircraft. That face has also been simplified to show up better online and on small screens.

The typeface used to write “Alaska” across the fuselage of every aircraft has been slightly altered and brightened.

The new look and logo has already been installed at SeaTac Airport and is expected to debut on credit cards and Alaska Airlines merchandise in the next few weeks.
