Player of the Week: Mariah Tanuvasa-Tuvaifale

She did a little bit of everything.

Mariah Tanuvasa-Tuvaifale is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.

Tanuvasa-Tuvaifale, 5-foot-7 junior setter for Thunder Mountain High School, had 20 kills and 33 digs over the final three matches of the Dimond Service Volleyball Tournament last Saturday in Anchorage.

TMHS knocked off Homer 2-1 and Kodiak 2-0 before taking down West Valley 2-1 (21-25, 26-24, 15-12) in the Silver Bracket championship game. It was the Falcons’ second Silver Bracket title in three years. TMHS volleyball faces off against Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at JDHS and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. to conclude the regular season.
