The fastest time in this year’s Mount Roberts Tram Run belongs to 28-year-old Dylan Anthony.

Anthony raced up the Mount Roberts Trail finishing at Father Brown’s Cross with a time of 24 minutes and 5 seconds, according to race director Linda Kruger. Christy Gentemann, 31, had the fastest time for a woman at 27:38.

The Mount Roberts Tram Run is a Juneau Trail and Road Runners event sponsored annually by the Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway.

In past years, the race has started at the tram parking lot on South Franklin Street, and runners have ran through town to reach the trailhead on Basin Road before proceeding to the cross. Since the tram is closed this year, the race started at the trailhead. A total of 48 people, including seven youths between 11 and 15 years old, completed the course between June 5 and June 11.

With the Tram not running, everyone had to run or walk back down the trail after finishing at the cross.

All participants who completed the course will receive a 2021 Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway pass.
