A man involved in an altercation that led to a death last weekend was indicted Friday on a murder charge.
Tommy Floyd Bowers, 59, was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder and felony manslaughter by a grand jury.
The charges stem from an incident last Friday night in which Bowers confronted Earl Saunders McKinley, 54, who was acting in an aggravating manner toward Bowers, according a police. Both men were residents of the Glory Hall, a soup kitchen and shelter in the Mendenhall Valley.
During an argument McKinley was pushed and then fell out an open second-story window, striking his head, according to police. He was medevaced to Seattle, but was unable to be resuscitated.
Bowers was charged at the time of the initial incident with felony second-degree assault. Bowers is being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center, with bail set at $50,000.
