Three cars were involved in a crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Vanderbilt Hill Road and Egan Drive. Capital City Fire/Rescue Assistant Chief Sam Russell said one person involved was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital with minor injuries while the other two involved declined treatment or transport.

“We responded with one engine and one ambulance to oversee the event,” Russell said. “We did have a fuel spill by one of the cars, but that was taken care of by the tow truck company; CCFR mitigated it initially and then the tow truck company took care of the rest. Other than that, it was a relatively minor incident, luckily it was a relatively minor incident with as many cars that we had involved.”

A spokesperson for Juneau Police Department said in an email that the wreck occurred approximately at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. A 2014 white Dodge Challenger that was found to be at fault was operated by 30-year-old Brittnie Cooper. Cooper was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to exercise due care.

The other two people involved were an 80-year-old man driving a Toyota Tacoma and an 85-year-old man driving a Jeep Wrangler. All three vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene, according to JPD.
