Firefighters Wednesday afternoon extinguished a small blaze at Juneau Christian Center.

Capital City Fire/Rescue responded at about 3:30 p.m. to a fire on the east side of the building. No injuries were reported and the fire was extinguished without incident, according to CCFR.

According to CCFR Assistant Chief Ed Quinto the call initially came in from someone at the bus stop nearby after seeing white smoke coming from the corner of the building and as the smoke increased, the fire department was called.

“We found there was a little bit of smoke and fire on the outside of the corner of the building,” Quinto said. “At this time, we did a quick knock down of the fire and we checked inside, everything looked good. We’ll be investigating the cause of the fire by the fire marshal.”
