A Juneau resident in her 80s died of COVID-19 at Bartlett Regional Hospital on Sunday evening, marking a seventh local death from the disease, according to a city news release.

The death follows a sixth death the previous week. Previously, no one had died in Juneau from COVID-19 in months.

The city also reported 58 new cases, 56 resident and 2 nonresident. The largest cluster currently identified is from an out-of-town youth sports event, with 7 active cases and 15 recovered, according to a City and Borough of Juneau.

Alaska no longer releases its total coronavirus casualties.
