BETHEL — The body of a southwest Alaska man missing since September has been recovered in the Kuskokwim River.
A body found June 10 has been identified as 26-year-old George Mute of Kongiganak.
Alaska State Troopers said Mute was one of three men in a boat that struck a sandbar on the Kuskokwim River near Napaskiak. Bethel Search and Rescue picked up the others.
Ground, river and searchers could not find Mute in September.
