Watch: Governor’s briefing on public schools, travel protocols

Gov. Mike Dunleavy will hold a news conference at 5 p.m. Tuesday to discuss school reopenings and updated travel mandates. Dunleavy will be joined by Department of Education and Early Development Commissioner Michael Johnson, Health and Social Services Commissioner Adam Crum and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anne Zink, according to a news release from his office.

[Details on mandate change scarce, few changes for now]

Dunleavy said last week out-of-state travelers arriving in Alaska would, as of Aug. 11, have to produce negative COVID-19 test results from the previous 72 hours, eliminating the option of getting tested at the airport upon arrival.
