Juneau police said they have arrested a man who they want to question in connection to a reported assault involving a firearm that happened Saturday morning.

The man, 32-year-old James Nicholas Cook, was arrested Monday afternoon, according to an email from JPD Lt. Krag Campbell. JPD put out a public call Monday morning for information to help locate Cook.

Cook was sought for questioning following an incident early July 4. At about 3:41 a.m., JPD received a report of someone pulling a gun on another person on the 9400 block of Glacier Highway. Officers made contact with a 25-year-old man, who said another man had approached him in a parking lot, punched him in the face and pulled a gun on him, Campbell said. Cook is listed as a person of interest in the assault at this time, Campbell said.

Cook was also wanted for a no-bail Alaska State Troopers warrant out for a parole violation related to a charge of third-degree assault and second-degree escape, according to a JPD news release.
