Body found on Anchorage road; police investigate as homicide

ANCHORAGE — A man was found dead Monday on an Anchorage road and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The body of the man was found just before 8:30 a.m. in the middle of Campbell Airstrip Road at Mile 3.

The road meanders south from Tudor Road past the Alaska Botanical Garden and is the only route into Stuckagain Heights, a mountainside subdivision.

Police closed the road from 8:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m.

Police say the dead man has been identified and his name will be released after his next of kin has been notified.
