Soza, Sheufelt win Tee Harbor Road Race

Jason Soza and Janice Sheufelt topped the field in Saturday’s Tee Harbor Road Race, the first Juneau Freewheelers Bicycle Club race of the season.

After a rolling start at the Lynn Canal Fire Station Soza cycled the 20-mile round trip course out past Eagle Beach and back in 56 minutes and nine seconds while Sheufelt finished in 1:04:35 for seventh overall and fastest female.

Overall race results are:

1. Jason Soza 56:09; 2. Daniel Wiersma 56.11; 3. Andrew Dyke 56:16; 4. John Bursell 56:47; 5. Sommers Cole 56:49; 6. Randy Peterson 1:01:01; 7. Janice Sheufelt 1:04:35; 8. Rob Welton 1:04:36; 9. Jamie Bursell 1:05:19; 10 Dave Ringle 1:05:20; 11. Dan Tatro 1:17:04.

The next Juneau Freewheelers event is the Thane Donut Time Trial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27.
