Juneau man indicted on sexual abuse of a minor charges

A Juneau man was indicted on multiple charges of sexual abuse of a minor on April 1, according to Alaska Department of Law.

Stephen J. Gailliot, 49, was charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor by a Juneau grand jury on April 1, 2021. Currently in custody of the Alaska Department of Corrections in lieu of posting $75,000 bail, Gailliot faces up to 99 years imprisonment if convicted by the Juneau District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting the case, according to the department.

Gailliot’s next scheduled court date is May 19, 2021. Judge Amy Mead is presiding.
