JPD arrest man wanted for sexual assault on $50,000 warrant

The Juneau Police Department arrested a state employee wanted for multiple counts of sexual assault against a minor yesterday, according to a JPD press release.

Keith Anders Hermann, 53, was arrested Friday on a $50,000 warrant at the State Office Building where he worked, said Lt. Krag Campbell in the press release.

A Juneau grand jury had indicted Hermann that day for six counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the 1st degree, six counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the 2nd degree, and one count of sexual assault in the 1st degree. Campbell said that the jury took a while to come to a decision.

“When you have a case with this many counts and over that long period of time, you have to listen to all the facts,” Campbell said.

This indictment followed a five month investigation after JPD received a report that Hermann had been sexually abusing a minor over a span of about 15 years, Campbell said.

Hermann is currently being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $50,000 bail. His arriagnment has not been scheduled at this time.
