Eagle Beach women, four others squads crowned adult hockey champions

The Juneau Adult Hockey Association crowned champions from the A, B, C, Women’s and Over 40 divisions on Sunday at Treadwell Arena.
Carpenter’s Local 1281 received two goals from Danny Amos the final six minutes of the Tier A championship game, winning 4-3. Goalie Thomas McKenzie made 39 saves for Louie’s, who scored all three of its goals in the second period.
The Kensington Goaldminers overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat the Douglas Whalers 3-1 in the Tier B championship game. Scott Shields rallied the Goaldminers to victory with two third-period goals.
Wayne Coleman posted a shutout and Croix Fylpa and Brady Wilson tallied goals in Alaska Airlines’ 2-0 C Tier championship victory over Coeur Alaska.
Eagle Beach knocked off HECLA Greens Creek 4-1 in the Women’s Tier championship game, while three Royal Winnipeg players scored to down Dupont Whalers 3-2 in the Over 40 title game.
