Juneau officer pleads not guilty in drunken driving case

The Juneau police officer who was arrested for drunken driving off-duty pleaded not guilty in court Monday.
Brent Bartlett telephonically entered a not guilty plea to the charges of felony third-degree assault and misdemeanor DUI in Juneau Superior Court before Judge Daniel Schally.
He was arrested on July 29 after he was involved in a car crash that involved a woman being hospitalized. Bartlett reportedly blew a .239 BAC at the scene.
Bartlett is represented by Julie Willoughby. The prosecuting attorney is Tim McGillicuddy, Ketchikan district attorney.
A discovery hearing is scheduled for Oct. 8, a pretrial hearing will occur on Oct. 21, and a trial is tentatively slated for Oct. 28.
Bartlett has been out on bail, on the conditions that he may neither consume alcohol nor operate a motor vehicle.
