Heavy snow is expected over the holiday weekend.

The National Weather Service predicts total snow accumulations from 6 to 12 inches. There is a winter weather storm effect in place from midnight until 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Greatest snowfall rates are expected Monday morning and again late Monday afternoon and evening. Travel could be difficult, especially during these times of heavier snowfall.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
