Talk after the movie: Free film screening and panel discussion about colonization

A short film and a longer discussion are planned for tonight at the Gold Town Nickelodeon.
There will be a free screening of the film “Sayéik” at 6:30 p.m. at the theater at 171 Shattuck Way Suite 109. The screening of the 24-minute movie made by Luke Holton will be followed by a panel conversation.
Holton’s movie is a student research film that examines the colonization of Southeast Alaska.
This is done in part by illustrating the differences between Alaska Native and non-Native communities and celebrating early success of place name revitilization projects.
