Juneau’s municipal election will soon be in the rear view mirror, and attention will turn fully to the Nov. 6 general election.

The University of Alaska Southeast is trying to give students, staff and faculty a chance to get to know gubernatorial candidates with a series of conversations, starting Tuesday with Democratic candidate Mark Begich. Begich will be available for questions from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday in classroom 222 in the Egan building.

The conversation is open to UAS students, staff, faculty, UAS student veterans, military members and families of UAS students, staff and faculty.

Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott will be available on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Lt. Gov. candidate Kevin Meyer, who is running with Republican candidate Mike Dunleavy, will be at UAS on either Oct. 17 or 18. William “Billy” Toien, a Libertarian candidate, will also attend at a date and time to be determined. The times and locations for Mallott, Meyer and Toien are to be determined.
