The Alaska State Museum will offer free admission to special ticketholders Saturday as part of the Smithsonian’s 14th annual Museum Day.

The special event represents a nationwide commitment to access, equality and inclusion at museums across the country.

Free museum tickets are available at Smithsonian.com/MuseumDay.

Tickets are required for the state museum’s free day. A ticket provides general admission for two people, and there is a limit of one ticket per email address.

Summer hours at the museum are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week. Winter hours will begin Oct. 2, and the museum will then be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
