JDHS jazz band raising travel money with Saturday dinner

Dinner and a show this Saturday night could help send some of Juneau’s young musicians to a nearby jazz festival.
The Juneau-Douglas High School Jazz Band is hosting a Jazz Dinner this Saturday to raise money to send students to the 2018 Sitka Jazz Festival. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. in the JDHS commons, with live music from the band.
Tickets are $20 per person, and those interested in attending are asked to email JDHS Band Director Amy Bibb so she can get a head count. Her email is amy.bibb@juneauschools.org.
The Sitka Jazz Festival is in its 23rd year and runs from Feb. 1-3 this year. It works to bring professional musicians from around the world to teach and perform.
