City Museum starts downtown history tour

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum hosts walking history tours of downtown this Thursday and every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. through Sept. 21.

Join an experienced local guide for a historic tour. Learn about the changing landscape of downtown Juneau and hear tales about prominent Juneau families from the Gold Rush era to today.

Tours, which cost $25 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and under, include admission to the City Museum, a 20 percent discount at the Museum gift shop and tea time at Alaska’s Capital Inn.

Walks take place regardless of weather and last 1½ hours. Reservations are recommended. Tickets can be obtained at the museum or through the museum’s website at http://www.juneau.org/library/museum/walkingtour.php.
