The Juneau Glacier Valley Rotary Club is hosting its annual ceremony commemorating those lost in 9/11 on Sunday.

The ceremony will also honor Juneau’s first responders, according to a public service announcement.

It will take place at Riverside Rotary Park, 3300 Riverside Drive at the Memorial Flag Pole, from 9:40-10:15 a.m.

“As a community and witness to that event, it is important that we remember what transpired that day, how we felt, and recognize our response to it — the sense of community, the recognition of our first responders, and the way we pulled together to get through something that changed many lives,” the announcement states.

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Beth Weldon at 723-3116.
