Tongass Democrats host annual picnic

Juneau’s branch of the Democratic Party hosts its annual picnic this weekend at Sandy Beach.
The picnic begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and runs until 2 p.m. at the large shelter at the beach. Live music will be provided by the Fleet Street Band, and hot dogs, chips and refreshments will be provided. Organizers ask attendees to bring a dish to share or donate $10.
The picnic is also an opportunity to meet candidates for the fall municipal and state election.
