PITKA’S POINT — A southwest Alaska man was seriously injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash.

Alaska State Troopers said 26-year-old Gabriel Wasky was driving down a steep hill at high speed and lost control.

The ATV rolled multiple times, crushing Wasky.

Troopers took a call on the crash at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

An ambulance transported Wasky five miles to the Saint Mary’s Clinic.

He was medically evacuated to an Anchorage hospital.

Troopers said he had not worn a helmet and that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Pitka’s Point is a village of 121 near the junction of the Yukon and Andreafsky rivers.
