Juneau Symphony’s Youth Solo Competition to be held this week

Juneau Symphony will hold the Youth Solo Competition on Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Thunder Mountain High School.
Each musician will perform a memorized concerto with piano accompaniment. Grand prizewinners may be featured as guest artists with the Juneau Symphony and Student Symphony during the 2016-17 concert season.
The following musicians will compete: Elizabeth Djajalie, 10; Alexander Yu, 12; Olivia Gardner, 13; Lila Quigley, 13; and Tezah Haddock, 13.
The Youth Solo Competition is free and open to the public. The Juneau Symphony encourages everyone to attend and support Southeast Alaska’s young musicians. A reception will follow in the Thunder Mountain High School commons.
