Alumni hockey players gather on the ice

Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé alumni hockey players gathered on the Treadwell Ice Arena sheet for a mini tournament Dec. 26.

The Crimson Bears alum divided into four teams with some players splitting time on other sides.

Representing 2009-2017 were Masen Smith, Ryan Liebelt, Chris Klawon, Zach Bicknell, Cole Cheeseman, Zane Chapman, Robin Woodby, Nick Rutecki, Dillon Tamoro and Cahail Morehouse.

Representing 2018-2020 were Kasey Watts, Fin Shibler, Logan Ginter, Dylan Murdoch, Cody Roomsburg, Cameron Smith, Yosef Moncef, Jamie Hort, Ian Cookie Murphy, Zach Bicknell, Ilya Wallace and Andre Perovi.

Representing 2022 were Fin Shibler, Chance Turinski, Ilya Wallace, Dylan Murdoch, Cody Kesserling, Aubrey Hekkers, Cody Roomsburg, Andre Perovi, Cameron Smith, Brandon Campbell and Carter Kohlhase.

Representing 2023-24 were Brandon Campbell, Caden Johns, Lake Bartlett, Brandon West, Sonny Monsef, Carter Kohlhase and Cody Kesserling.

In round one 2009-17 topped 2018-2020 by the score of 5-1. Winning goals came from Chapman (assist Bicknell), Cheeseman (Morehouse, Liebelt), Liebelt (Bicknell), Tamoro (Cheeseman) and Woodby (Tamoro). Losing goal came from Watts (Shibler, Moncef).

Also in round one 2022 defeated 2023-24 by the score of 1-0. The winning goal came from Shibler (Perovi).

Losers played in the third/fourth place game and 2023-24 defeated 2018-2020 by a 2-0 score. Winning goals came from Campbell unassisted and Kohlhase (Campbell).

In the championship game 2022 defeated 2009-17 by the score of 4-2. Winning goals came from Perovi (Shibler, Murdoch), Turinski (Campbell, Murdoch), Shibler (Murdoch) and Shibler (Kohlhase, Perovi). Losing goals came from Liebelt unassisted and another Liebelt goal assisted by Cheeseman.

The current JDHS 2024-25 Crimson Bears will host the Bartlett Golden Bears Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at Treadwell Ice Arena.
