The Capital City Chapter of Alaska Peace Officers will host a service to remember Alaska law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
The service will begin at 1 p.m. on May 13 at Centennial Hall. Light refreshments will follow and the event will conclude with a wreath laying at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Alaska Police Memorials will take place across the state, as well. At 3 p.m. today at the State Crime Detection Laboratory in Anchorage, Sgt. Mike Roberts, an Alaska State Trooper from Fairbanks, will be a keynote speaker. A ceremony in Fairbanks is scheduled for May 20.
