A Juneau man was found deceased in Gastineau Channel near Dupont Creek on Saturday, according to a release from the Juneau Police Department.
The U.S. Coast Guard called JPD at 10:17 a.m. Saturday, according to the release, after someone had called the Coast Guard to report a body in the channel. JPD and Coast Guard personnel arrived to find Edward P. Boudreau, 64, of Juneau deceased, the release reads.
The cause of death is unknown, police say, and next of kin has been notified. No foul play is suspected, according to the release, and the body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage for an autopsy. Coast Guard responders were not able to find any boat in the area that might have belonged to Boudreau, the release states, and the case is now under JPD investigation.
