A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder Wednesday evening, Juneau Police Department announced.

Joshua Allen Shaff, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder related to the death of Majid Sateri, 69, also known as Mark Humford, said JPD Lt. Krag Campbell in a news release.

JPD received a call just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon from Shaff, reporting a murder at the Mountain View Apartments, a senior living facility. Officers responded and located Shaff outside his apartment in the facility, Campbell said.

Police located Sateri’s body in an adjacent apartment. The initial cause of death appears to be multiple stab wounds, Campbell said. Sateri and Shaff were neighbors.

Shaff was taken into custody and taken to the police station, where he was subsequently arrested before being taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

There were no other reported injuries to anyone else at the facility.
