TOK — A boy is recovering from an accidental shooting near Tok.
Alaska State Troopers on Wednesday afternoon received a call that the child had shot himself in the foot while hunting.
Troopers responded and assisted the boy until emergency medical responders arrived.
The boy was transported by ambulance to Tok and flown to Fairbanks for additional treatment.
Troopers said the injury is not life-threatening.
The name and the age of the boy were not released.
Tok is on the Alaska Highway about 200 miles southeast of Fairbanks.
