Anchorage teen dies in early morning street shooting

ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old boy shot and killed in the Government Hill neighborhood.

Police early Saturday morning took a call of a boy lying in a roadway. Investigators determined he had been shot in the back.

He died at a hospital. The boy’s name was not released.

A witness tells Anchorage television station KTUU that her security camera recorded the shooting.

Stephanie Manning says footage shows the boy meeting with two young men at a street corner shortly after midnight.

One pulls out a handgun and forces the boy to lie face-down in the snow. The young men go through his pockets and the one with the gun shoots him in the back.
